Moving to the Midland area in 2004 “King’s Craft Taxidermy” was started by owner Calvin King. Born and raised as a hunter and fisherman, I had the utmost respect for wildlife. Wanting to create a true piece of wildlife art, rather than just a simple taxidermy mount, I took it upon myself to train under some of the country’s best award winning taxidermists. Competing at the Canadian taxidermy show in 2004, my first year of competition, while under the watchful eye of a CBC film crew (filming a documentary on taxidermy) I won a 1st place and best of class ribbon on a full shoulder pedestal deer and a first place ribbon on a full shoulder coyote.
While training I realized the need for a taxidermy company that was honest with the customer, providing them with a high quality mount, at competitive prices, with a reasonable turn around time.
